Enabling researchers to make use of our collections is one of Special Collections’ primary goals. Recently, we took an important step to assist researchers who have PhDs or are in graduate programs by joining the New England Regional Fellowship Consortium. This consortium of New England research libraries provides $5,000 stipends to scholars for eight-week fellowships that include visits to member institutions.
Administered by the Massachusetts Historical Society, NERFC devotes almost all of its annual budget to the fellowships. The application review process, conducted by representatives of the member libraries, ensures that each library will receive at least one fellow every year. Special Collections looks forward to welcoming NERFC fellows in 2019.
